Hello,
This forum comes at the right time for me, I am currently struggling with a microCT scan of a mouse.
The problem I am having is that the mouse appears too large when I load it in Mimics, it seems taller than it in reality is.  Normally I work on medicalCT scans in Dicom format, but is it normal that if I load Tiff images that the image seems taller (although I gave in the resolution of the images)?
Can anyone help me on this topic?
thanks

Indeed, Thanks for this

Indeed,
Thanks for this question.
For Tech-CT samples you do not only give in the pixel size, but also the slice distance.  This can be given in during the import. For conical CT scans for example this will be the same number (the scanned resolution).
The pixel size is actually the XY resolution, the slice distance is the Z resolution.
Planned in a following Mimics 14.1 release the import module will have new features. One of it will be a redesigned import where you can give in the x,y,z resolution in mm and in micrometer. Also will it be possible to crop the dataset before loading it in, which will reduce the amount of data loaded and will be helpfull for the typically large datasets for TechCT.

It sounds to me that the slice increment is not proper.
You can check the "project information" under "file" menu which will show you the size of imported slice increment. If it's not correct, you can choose manual import and put in the proper number.
